Useless Trivia
My mom was really mad the time I brought a cat home from that same grocery store. The poor kitty meowed the whole bike ride home (he was, afterall stuffed in my shirt). When I finally grew up, I got in touch with my good Buddy from high school several years after we'd lost contact. Two weeks later, I agreed to marry him. Together, that Buddy and I have had some challenges--but we're better off for them. Our first daughter was born weighing only 1 lb 4 oz. After 4 months in the NICU, she came home with many complications but lots of smiles. Today, she is fed by a tube and is completely deaf in both ears. However, thanks to her cochlear implants, and with the expectation that she'll eventually learn to to eat on her own, we have many reasons to hope our little miracle will eventually lead a "normal" life. That is, if you can call being a daughter of an Artist "normal." With our second daughter, I was hospitalized and on bedrest for several months. This time, however, I was able to stay pregnant until she was full term (whew!). She is a healthy, vibrant part of our lives. If you're still reading at this point, I am left to assume you either have an intense interest in "the person behind the art" or have way too much time on your hands! If you are interested, I welcome you to read my personal blog. I'm pretty open when it comes to sharing because it's only in the sharing--with both thoughts and art--that I feel people can effectively lift each other. That said, please feel free to send me a note and share your stories with me!
